The medication used for treating epilepsy is Anticonvulsant Drugs. Anticonvulsant medications can be used for treating seizures, bipolar affective disorder or neuropathic pain. Some drugs that help with epilepsy are: Sodium Valproate (for women that may want to have children), Lamotrigine (used for most forms of epilepsy), Phenytoin (used for most forms of epilepsy). Many drugs can cause the patient to feel depressed, have anxiety and even suicidal acts or thoughts.
